So I went out and fixed it. There were actually some trick-or-treaters that came to our door asking if we were voting for McCain, as if that was the craziest thing ever. So I figured one of them got a little punchy after we turned out the lights. (Yes, we gave the little pollster some candy :))
Well, apparently my tiny act of defiance didn't sit well, because this was the scene at 7 AM:
We have some neighbors who are grad students and they had a late party last night. My best guess is that their guests spent a long night getting drunk, discussing politics, hoping for change, and then deciding that since the election would be stolen anyway, what was needed was some direct action on the way back to their cars.
Well, I fixed that one too (tape was involved). I remain, unbowed, a conservative guy in a liberal's world.
We shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the
beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields
and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.
