Missing Tooth Number Three...

...belongs to Lucy! So, yesterday afternoon she was playing and bumped what I thought was her chin on the corner of the couch. She cried a little bit but recovered quickly and went on playing. I didn't think anything more of it. A few hours later she comes over to me and says, "Mom, if your tooth moves back and forth, does that mean you have a loose tooth?" Sure enough, the darn thing was incredibly loose! After spending an hour on the phone trying to find a dentist who could see Lucy right away this morning, she pulled it out by herself. I am not 100% sure the tooth wasn't already loose, but 4 1/2 seems awfully young for that.
Anyway Lucy thinks it is the most awesome thing ever. If she didn't consider herself a "big girl" before, she certainly does now. My favorite part of the story: she did not want the tooth fairy to take her tooth until she could show it to all of her friends at school. So, instead of putting the tooth under her pillow last night, she put a note that said "Tooth Fairy: Do not take my tooth yet. Lucy". Awesome. Luckily, the tooth fairy can read because it was still there this morning. Last night, John was very curious about the inner workings of the tooth fairy system. He was asking me, does it still count if the tooth is knocked out and doesn't fall out? How does the tooth fairy find out about the teeth? If you're only 4 and not 6 does she still know? I enjoy the tooth fairy questions even more than the Santa questions! So there she is, my princess sans one little tooth.

Okay, that's cool and all. I was age 8 when I lost my first tooth at school and by then no one cared.

But seriously, she WROTE that note? Do you REALIZE Logan is still working on recognizing all the letters in his name? And he things LMNOP is one letter? And he can only basically write Logan backwards if it's in front of him and it's the random one time he feels like it? Do you know Sylvie is ahead of Logan in most of this "preschool stuff?" And she cant' write a letter yet!

I say brilliance for that child.
