One more John memory

Thinking of John and his "gagas" phase reminded me of his kitchen appliances phase. Again some of you probably remember this. When he was 2-3 years old he wanted to play primarily with kitchen appliances. He did not play with any toys. Every morning he would take every appliance out of our cupboards and play with them instead. It wasn't pretend cooking per se, he would more take all the pieces apart and put them all back together again. He loved the blender, juicer, food processor, veggie steamer, anything with moveable parts. He would try to make the parts fit on different things and stuff.
He identified our family friends by the different kitchen appliances at their homes. Ask Emily P. or Erin T. about this! Erin had a Cuisinart food processor that she took out (sans blade of course!) every time we visited just for John. He would ask for it as soon as we got in the door. He knew the different colors of mixers and blenders that different people had because he liked to play with them.
Then, one bright July day in the quiet town of Freeport, Illinois, John abandoned his beloved kitchen appliances for all things Superman, and the next phase began!

IIRC, the phases went glasses-appliances-fireman-Superman. Hence the enormous fire truck that is probably still sitting in your garage.

Do you have a food processor? With a blade????

Brian and I still say that every now and then and, of course, think of John.

I remember this! He would have been so disappointed at my house, we only have a cheapy tiny food processor! What I want to know is if he still laughs after saying "power tools".
